Police Probe Posted Online Threat Targeting Child In Scarsdale

The investigation into an online threat targeting a child in Westchester has led to the identification of three minors who allegedly posted the threat over the weekend.

Investigators at the Scarsdale Police Department were notified on Saturday, Nov. 24, of an online threat that had been posted about a local resident’s child.

Scarsdale Capt. Thomas Altizio said that the department’s Investigations Section immediately launched an investigation into the source of the threat.

The investigation led police to three juveniles from Chicago and Cleveland.

Altizio said that the investigation determined that the posting in this incident poses no threat to the child or the Scarsdale School District.

Altizio said that investigators have notified the FBI of the incident and the investigation.
